The biggest departure, though, was the presence of the title character, Nemesis, who stalked Jill throughout the campaign. Zombie hordes shambled through scenes and players had to dodge them rather than fight head on. It featured ruined city streets instead of the claustrophobic mansion confines. ![]() That’s the case with “Resident Evil 3,” which is a reimagining of the 1999 title that was the most radically different of the PlayStation trilogy as it followed the protagonist Jill Valentine on her escape from Raccoon City. That’s a challenging task when the remake’s inspiration has inherent flaws. It has to bring a different interpretation while staying faithful to the original.
